New exercise from Inelia
Meditation is when we go into an altered state of consciousness. This greatly expands our awareness and also helps with mental, emotional, energetic and physical health and balance.
Contemplation is the act of the thoughtful act of observation or study of a certain object, idea, situation, person, energy… anything at all. This will often lead to great insight and free flow of information.
Meditation will often lead to contemplation, and contemplation will often lead to meditation.
This week I invite you to spend at least an hour a day in meditation or contemplation, being aware of when and if the state of consciousness changes into one or the other. Have a pen and paper ready to take make note of what you discover!
For meditation, a very simple way to enter a meditative way is to simply feel the air as it enters and leaves our body and when our mind starts thinking of other things, purposely bring its attention back to feeling our breath as it passes in and out of our body.
For contemplation, I would suggest to pick one item, situation, object, person, and simply observe and study it. Keep notes, and also process any charged emotions or energy that come up for you when you observe it, if any.
